Developed after WWII. When afloat, propulsion is by means of two
powerful hydro jets in the stern plate. Light armor provides very limited
protection. Served for many years as the standard reconnaissance
vehicle of the Soviet Army. Saw action in the 1967 Six-Day War,
Vietnam and Angola. Over 7,000 built. Exported to over 25 countries.
