     Over 5,000 produced. Later variants were equipped
     with a short 7.5cm gun (Ausf N). By 1935 the experiences
     with the Panzers I and II  led to an improved combat tank.
     The first model was equipped with a 3.7 cm main gun. In 
     later models this was increased to 5 cm and eventually to
     7.5 cm. Production ceased in 1943. The excellent hull and 
     suspension were utilized  for self propelled artillery.
