This is an improved model of the KV-1 with increased overall armor
and a welded steel/cast steel turret. Increased length of main gun allowed for better armor penetration.  Increased weight led to a poor
power/weight ratio and lowered performance. Sound design,
formidable assault tank used to spearhead breakthroughs. Important
precursor to later generation heavy tanks. Remained in production
until 1943.
